Challenges Tackled
The client’s brief was to create an open-plan office for 20-30 employees with the flexibility to accommodate 50 when the full team came together weekly. The office should include multiple meeting rooms, podcast spaces, and areas for collaborative working. Plants were a must, lots of plants.

The office is divided into two distinct areas. The first floor is dedicated to work and more focused collaboration, while the second floor features more casual breakout areas, a podcast room, and a director’s office for privacy.

Strategic Breakthroughs
To deliver the client’s brief on budget, a mix of off-the-shelf furniture from high-street retailers was used in conjunction with specialist office furniture suppliers. Bespoke designs were also developed for the ceiling hanging gardens and planter/whiteboard room dividers to soften the space and provide some screening in the open-plan area.

The Design Idea
Working closely with the client, a broad range of ideas were explored to understand their desired outcomes and how the space would be used. This initial phase involved researching all possibilities and generating a variety of unconventional ideas. These ideas were then refined into designs and concepts that could be delivered within the target budget.

Key Deliverables
The project was delivered on time, as the client was relinquishing their coworking space. Additionally, the project was completed on budget across all areas of the renovation.
